Bola Atta

Bola Atta, a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience, boasts a diverse background spanning Banking, Business, Communications, Publishing, Entertainment, and Media. Starting her career in Banking, she cultivated relationships with high net-worth individuals and collaborated with government agencies in Nigeria and South Africa. Transitioning to the Media industry, Bola emerged as a prominent editor, garnering recognition through features on CNN’s Market Place Africa.

In 2000, Bola became Programme Manager for M-Net in West Africa, where she played a pivotal role in launching the Africa Magic Channel in 2003, dedicated to broadcasting African movies, particularly Nollywood films. This initiative has since become one of the most-watched channels on cable networks across Africa. Additionally, her innovative initiatives, such as the creation of REDTV during her tenure at United Bank for Africa in 2015, have further amplified Africa’s narratives on a global scale.

Bola’s contributions have been widely acknowledged, with numerous accolades recognizing her impact in the industry. From being voted one of the top 40 Nigerians under 40 to being honored as one of the 100 most influential women in Nigeria, her achievements highlight her enduring influence. In 2021, she received the prestigious Marketing Edge Prize as the Outstanding Corporate Communications Personality of the Decade, solidifying her legacy as a trailblazer in her field.

Dedicated to empowering others, Bola is involved in initiatives such as the APO Women in Journalism Media award. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sussex and an MBA with a major in Marketing from Duquesne University, underscoring her commitment to continuous learning and growth.
