Bryan Stevenson is a visionary lawyer, social justice activist, and author, renowned for his tireless advocacy on behalf of marginalized communities and his groundbreaking work in criminal justice reform. With a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, Bryan’s academic background has equipped him with the legal expertise and passion for justice that have defined his illustrious career.

As the founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), Bryan has led transformative efforts to challenge racial injustice and discrimination in the criminal justice system. His pioneering work has resulted in landmark legal victories, including the Supreme Court ruling banning mandatory life sentences without parole for juveniles and the exoneration of wrongly convicted individuals on death row.

In addition to his achievements in litigation, Bryan is a powerful advocate for confronting America’s history of racial violence and inequality. He has spearheaded initiatives such as the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, which commemorates victims of lynching and racial terror, and the Legacy Museum, which examines the legacy of slavery and racial injustice in America.

Bryan’s dedication to social justice and racial equality has earned him numerous awards and accolades, including the MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellowship and the ACLU’s National Medal of Liberty. He is also a bestselling author, with his memoir “Just Mercy” inspiring readers around the world to confront injustice and advocate for change.

In recognition of his contributions to advancing human rights and confronting systemic injustice, Bryan Stevenson continues to inspire and empower individuals and communities to fight for a more equitable and just society.
