Mo Abudu

Mo Abudu is a highly influential media personality renowned for her groundbreaking contributions to the media production industry, notably as the driving force behind Ebony Life Media, Ebony Life Creative Academy and Ebony Life Place, an upscale entertainment destination in Nigeria. Mo’s extensive expertise encompasses management, startups, leadership, and business development, honed through a diverse professional journey.

Beginning her career in 1987 as a recruitment consultant in the UK, Mo later held pivotal roles at Starform Group and Arthur Andersen in Nigeria, where she excelled in Human Resources and Training for ExxonMobil.

Mo Abudu, creator of “Moments with Mo,” the first syndicated daily talk show on African TV, was hailed by Forbes Africa as the first African woman to own a Pan-African TV channel in 2013. She was listed among the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global TV by The Hollywood Reporter and received the Entrepreneur of the Year award from Women Werk in New York in 2014. Making history, she was the first African to win MIPTV’s 2019 Médailles d’Honneur in Cannes and featured in the 2020 Powerlist of the Top 100 most influential individuals in the UK of African descent. In October 2022, she was honored with the National Honour, ‘Officer of the Order of the Niger’ (OON), by the President of Nigeria, highlighting her impact in the media.

Mo’s academic accomplishments include a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from the University of Westminster in London, complemented by two Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Babcock University and the University of Westminster.
