Njideka Harry

Njideka Harry is a Nigerian entrepreneur and activist who has made significant contributions in the field of technology, education, and social entrepreneurship. With a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors, she has emerged as a leading figure in empowering youth and women in developing countries through technology.

Njideka Harry’s path started with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After gaining industry experience at General Electric, she founded the Youth for Technology Foundation (YTF) at Microsoft in 2000. YTF is a nonprofit using technology to empower youth and women in developing countries. Under Harry’s guidance, YTF has launched programs in education, entrepreneurship, and skills training, tackling challenges in marginalized communities.

In collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, YTF launched a program to empower women entrepreneurs in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Furthermore, Harry’s passion for 3D printing led to the creation of 3D Africa, an educational initiative that equips unemployed African engineers with valuable skills in computer-aided design, robotics, and entrepreneurship.

Harry’s work has earned her recognition both nationally and internationally. She was nominated as an Ashoka Fellow and selected as a World Economic Forum Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship Fellow. Her efforts have also been supported by renowned organizations such as Mastercard, Makerbot, Autodesk, and the Clinton Global Initiative.
