Sim Shagaya

Sim Shagaya, a highly esteemed figure in the Nigerian media and technology entrepreneurship landscape, proudly holds the distinguished position of Founder and CEO of uLesson Education Limited. His visionary leadership extends beyond uLesson, encompassing other notable ventures such as Konga.com, a leading e-commerce platform, and E-Motion Advertising, a prestigious out-of-home media company later acquired by Loadstad Media.

Before diving into entrepreneurship, Shagaya held diverse roles including banking in South Africa and leading Google’s operations in Africa. In 2013, he was honored as the Entrepreneur of the Year at the CNBC/All Africa Business Leaders Award, and in 2014, he earned a spot on Forbes’ prestigious “10 Most Powerful Men in Africa” list. He was also awarded the Leadership CEO of the Year at the Leadership Conference/Awards the same year.

Beyond business, Shagaya is committed to community development, serving on the Economic Advisory Council of Plateau State, Nigeria. He further demonstrates his dedication to societal progress through initiatives like the uLesson educational platform, launched in 2020.

Shagaya’s academic journey is marked by excellence, with an undergraduate degree from George Washington University, a Master’s in Engineering from Dartmouth College, and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2003, providing a solid educational foundation for his impactful contributions in media, technology, and education.
