Tara Fela-Durotoye, a Nigerian beauty entrepreneur and lawyer, is celebrated for her pioneering role in the professional makeup industry in Nigeria during the late 90s. As the founder and CEO of House of Tara International, she introduced the first bridal directory and established international-standard makeup studios and schools in Nigeria. Through her “Tara Beauty Entrepreneur” initiative, she has empowered countless beauty entrepreneurs, cementing her status as a major force in the Nigerian female entrepreneurship community.
With over 20 years of experience, Fela-Durotoye continues to inspire others through her thought leadership and influential courses, both in classrooms and online. She has been honored with numerous national and international awards, including being named among “Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women” by Forbes magazine in 2020.
Fela-Durotoye’s academic journey includes prestigious programs at the Lagos Business School, INSEAD Abu Dhabi, Yale University, The Stanford SEED Transformation Programme, and the Harvard Kennedy School, where she completed the Global Leadership and Public Policy in the 21st century course. She is also a member of the France/Nigeria Investment club, established in 2018 by French President Emmanuel Macron.
